PIP (also known as No-Fault insurance) is a required insurance coverage in the State of Florida for anyone who owns an operable motor vehicle. PIP mandates that insurance carriers must pay 80% of covered medical expenses, up to $10,000.00 for medical bills, lost wages, funeral expenses, and other damages after a car accident. Benefits are paid by the insurance company, regardless of who is at fault.
